Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) has been closely monitoring local COVID-19 conditions and following the guidance of the Centers for Disease and Control and Prevention (CDC) and medical experts when developing protocols to ensure the health and safety of our students and employees. Due to the newly released information provided by the Florida Department of Education and aligned with CDC guidance for the length of isolation, beginning Monday, March 14, 2022, students may return to school five days after obtaining a positive test result if they remain symptom-free without the use of medication for a period of 24 hours. This aligns students eligible return date with that of employees. While the facial covering mandate for employees was removed February 14, 2022, employees who test positive and return to work on day 6 should continue to wear a facial covering on days 6-10 as recommended by the CDC.

Questions regarding mask protocols or isolation should be directed to your worksite administrator.
